Easter Short Course

The Easter short course is intended for those who wish to receive a more informed and intensive traditional drawing programme.  The course will focus on drawing from the famous Parthenon Marbles which have been an inspiration to many artists over the years including Rodin, Stubbs, and Degas.  Nichola is a well-known equine artist as well as a portrait artist and finds great inspiration from these ancient sculptures for her own work.  Nichola has designed this short course for people interested in drawing the horse, the figure or both.  A Monday and a Tuesday are the quietest days of the week and due to the course being during the Easter break, Nichola invites adults and art students of 16+.  The course welcomes all levels of drawing experience, including the complete beginner.

Nichola wishes to take this opportunity and donate to World Horse Welfare; 10% of the proceeds will go to the charity if you chose one day and 15% of the proceeds will go to the charity if you chose two days.

Students in full-time education will receive a student 10% discount.

The morning half-day workshops are classes designed for those who are eager to experience the introductory stages of traditional drawing. A full-day workshop is intended for those who wish to receive a more informed traditional drawing program and give students more time to resolve their drawing and learn light theory. Students who have completed the morning half-day workshop can book the afternoon half-day separately. These are small classes of 1-6 people and welcome adults including children of 12+ for all levels of drawing experience, including the complete beginner. Children must be accompanied by an adult and minors of 16+ must have their parents or guardian's express consent.

Flexible drop-in classes are available to purchase through block booking of four or six half-days in the V&A. Nichola will personalise your learning experience and teach you additional information, exercises and techniques. You also receive an additional handouts with more information and drawing exercises to do at home. You can choose to focus on the figure or the portrait or both.  To book, please choose your preferred block booking amount on the date you wish start. One must start with a morning half-day and then can choose your preferred listed workshop dates and times thereafter. You can also choose a full-day using two of your half-days. Please inform Nichola no later than week before the next preferred class dates and times to reserve your spot, but you have up to three days prior your selected date to change. If you fail to attend a lesson this will be counted as an attendance.  Lessons must be used within three months from your first half or full-day. Workshops run every two weeks on a Saturday.
